George C. Thomas Invitational Field Preview: Elite Mid-Am Field Heads to Los Angeles Country Club

The George C. Thomas Invitational returns to Los Angeles Country Club June 25-27 with 38 of the country's top mid-amateurs competing for 54 holes of stroke play.

The George C. Thomas Invitational returns to Los Angeles Country Club June 25-27, bringing 38 of the country's top mid-amateurs to one of golf's most iconic venues for 54 holes of stroke play. Defending champion Drew Kittleson is not in this year's field, opening the door for a new name on the trophy. Live scoring will be available on the tournament hub throughout the week.

The field is headlined by Trip Kuehne, the 2007 U.S. Mid-Amateur champion and three-time Walker Cup team member who remains one of the most decorated amateurs in the history of the game. Stephen Behr, a 2024 U.S. Mid-Amateur semifinalist, brings elite-level consistency to a field that also includes Mark Costanza, runner-up to Stewart Hagestad at the 2021 U.S. Mid-Amateur at Sankaty Head. Nico Bollini, who plays out of the newly restored Santa Ana Country Club, adds another layer of talent to an already stacked lineup. Will Davenport, who lost the George C. Thomas in a playoff two years ago, returns as a serious contender looking to finish the job.

Names like Christian Cavaliere, who played in the 2023 U.S. Open at LACC as an amateur, Patrick Christovich, Seiji Liu, a member at LACC with a home-course edge, Jordan Nasser, and Taylor Wood round out a deep field where any number of players could contend over three rounds at LACC. midamgolfHQ will be tracking the action all week from Los Angeles.
