U.S. Mid-Am Champ Brandon Holtz Lives Out His Masters Dream at Augusta

On 2026-04-09: Brandon Holtz, a 39-year-old realtor from Bloomington, Illinois, teed it up at Augusta National this week after winning the U.S. Mid-Amateur at Troon last September. A former Division I basketball player at Illinois State who stepped away from competitive golf for 12 years, Holtz represented the mid-am community on golf's biggest stage. He missed the cut but called the experience the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

Bryan Hoops Goes Back-to-Back at Society of Seniors Senior Masters

On 2026-04-11: Bryan Hoops of Tempe, Arizona fired a final-round 3-under 69 to edge Rick Stimmel by one shot and defend his title at the Senior Masters, held April 9–11 at Indian Wells Golf Resort in California. Hoops finished at 7-under 208 (71-68-69) for his second consecutive Senior Masters victory. Greg Mokler won the Super Legend division by four strokes.

Four AJGA Juniors Reach ANWA Final Round at Augusta National

On 2026-04-04: Four current AJGA members advanced to the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur, led by 17-year-old Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, who set the ANWA record for consecutive bogey-free holes at 36. Talley held a two-shot lead heading into Saturday's final round at Augusta National but stumbled on the back nine. Colombia's Maria Jose Marin claimed the title at 14-under par, setting a new ANWA scoring record.
