Qualifier tee times go off Nos. 1 and 10 from 8-10 a.m. Monday at Crumpin-Fox Club in Bernardston, Mass., with practice rounds following in the afternoon. The 72-player field of boys and girls ages 12-19 plays 36 holes Tuesday and closes the 54-hole championship Wednesday morning on the 6,999-yard layout.
Will Collins of Keswick Golf Club in Charlottesville completed a wire-to-wire victory at Hermitage Country Club, closing with an even-par 72 on the Sabot Course to finish at 13-under 203 and win by three shots over Winburne Hughes. Collins led from start to finish across all three rounds, posting 65-68-70 over the Sabot, Manakin, and Sabot courses. Blanton Farmer rounded out the top three at 7-under 209.
The 69th Senior Women's and 8th Super Senior Women's Amateur Championships run Aug. 24-28 on the Old Course in Hot Springs, Va., with a stroke-play qualifying round seeding a 16-player senior bracket and an eight-player super senior bracket. Kristin Shifflett arrives off back-to-back titles while Mimi Hoffman defends in the super senior division.
