84th Valentine Invitational Final: Collins Caps Wire-to-Wire Victory at Hermitage

Will Collins closes with an even-par 72 to complete a wire-to-wire victory at 13-under 203, winning the 84th Valentine Invitational by three shots over Winburne Hughes at Hermitage Country Club.

Will Collins of Keswick Golf Club in Charlottesville completed a wire-to-wire victory at the 84th Valentine Invitational, closing with an even-par 72 on the Sabot Course to finish at 13-under 203 and win by three shots at Hermitage Country Club. Collins led from start to finish across all three rounds, posting 65-68-70 over the Sabot, Manakin, and Sabot courses to pull away from the field. Winburne Hughes of Memphis, who made a charge after his second-round 65, settled for solo second at 10-under 206 after a final-round 72. Keith Guest of Athens, Ga. climbed into fourth at 5-under 211 with a pair of 70s on the weekend, while 2023 Valentine champion Sam Beach and Connor Hill tied for fifth at 3-under 213. Defending champion John Hunter missed the cut at 8-over after rounds of 76-76, and 2007 U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Trip Kuehne finished at 3-over 219.
