U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Stroke Play: Shepherd, Doran, and Jamieson Share Lead at 1-Over Heading Into Match Play

Ivy Shepherd held onto a share of the lead after 36 holes of stroke play at Montclair Golf Club, joined at the top at 1-over by Emilia Doran, who fired the low round of the day at 3-under 67, and England's Lucy Jamieson, who posted a 2-under 68. First-round co-leader Shannon Johnson collapsed with a second-round 78 to drop to a tie for 16th at 7-over, while defending champion Ina Kim-Schaad steadied with an even-par 70 to climb into a tie for fourth at 3-over alongside Catherine McEvoy, Talia Campbell, and France's Justine Fournand. Sixty players earned automatic spots in the match-play bracket, with eight players tied at 14-over heading to a playoff tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. for the final four spots. The playoff features former champions Kimberly Dinh and Lauren Greenlief alongside Mimi McAndrew, Ashley Freeman, Jasmeen Somrock, Betsy Kelly, Sarah Spicer-Baldwin, and Alexandra Grove, all fighting over just four match-play berths on the par-5 10th hole. Four-time champion Meghan Stasi qualified at 10-over in a tie for 32nd, while 2025 runner-up Hanley Long advanced at 11-over and two-time champion Julia Potter-Bobb made it through at 13-over.
