Burgess Holds the Lead at Jupiter as Rhodes’ 64 and Hurst’s 65 Tighten the Chase

Ryan Burgess sits at seven-under 133 through 36 holes at the Jupiter Invitational, two clear of a packed group at five-under that includes Joshua Rhodes (64), Tommy Hurst (65), and Jon Weiss heading into the final round.

Ryan Burgess followed his opening 65 with a steady two-under 68 in Round 2 to stay atop the inaugural Jupiter Invitational at seven-under 133, holding a two-shot lead through 36 holes at Jonathan’s Landing. The story behind him was movement. Joshua Rhodes fired the round of the day, a six-under 64, vaulting from T16 into a share of second at five-under 135. Tommy Hurst followed close behind with a five-under 65, climbing all the way from T11 to join Jon Weiss and Rhodes in the three-way tie for second. Keith Guest sits alone in fifth at two-under, with a six-pack of players bunched at one-under, including Daniel Faccini, Joe Conzemius, John Quigley, Daniel Stringfellow, Jordan Elsen, and Jay Kirchdorfer. Live scoring and full coverage of the final round can be tracked on the Jupiter Invitational tournament hub.

Saturday’s final round sets up as a wide-open chase behind Burgess. The leader has not had a round outside the 60s yet, but a two-shot cushion against three players tied at five-under leaves no margin for a slow start, and Rhodes’ 64 in particular shows what is possible at Jonathan’s Landing when a player gets the irons going. Among the names within four shots of the lead, Daniel Faccini, the highest-ranked mid-am in the field, will look to find the form that put him at T4 after Round 1. Christopher Wheeler bounced back from his opening 74 with a three-under 67, sitting T12 at one-over and effectively out of contention but back in the conversation for a strong weekend finish. midamgolfHQ will be tracking the action all afternoon from Jupiter.
