European Mid-Amateur Championship Recap: Tillement Wins in Playoff at Quinta do Peru

Pierre Tillement of France captured the 2026 European Mid-Amateur Men's Championship after defeating Finland's Keijo Jaakola in a two-hole playoff at Quinta do Peru Golf Club in Portugal. Both players finished regulation at 4-under par through 54 holes on the par-72 layout. In the playoff, the pair halved the first hole (the par-5 1st) before Tillement sealed the title with a birdie 3 on the par-3 8th, edging Jaakola's bogey 4. Austria's Markus Habeler finished alone in third at even par, four shots behind the leading pair. A group of four players tied for fourth at 1-over, including Sweden's Rickard Jönsson and Hampus Wijkström, Germany's Daniel Schmieding, and France's Christophe de Grancey.

In the women's division, Germany's Pauline Stein cruised to a dominant victory at even par, finishing six clear of runner-up Alena Oppenheimer (also of Germany) at 6-over.
