The 58th Champions Cup Invitational tees off March 26 at Champions Golf Club in Houston with 54 teams and no defending champion in the field.
The 58th Champions Cup Invitational returns to Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas, March 26–29, with 54 teams set to compete over 72 holes of best-ball stroke play on the historic Cypress Creek Course. Founded in 1961 by golf legends Jack Burke Jr. and Jimmy Demaret, the Champions Cup remains one of the most prestigious four-ball events on the mid-amateur calendar.
Notably absent from the 2026 field are defending champions Will Davenport and Nick Maccario, who ran away with last year’s title at 20-under par, winning by eight shots. Their absence opens the door for a new champion — and there is no shortage of contenders ready to step through it.
Four teams from last year’s top five are back and hungry. Phil Arci and Simon McInnis, who shared the runner-up spot at 12-under in 2025, return from Ontario looking to go one better. Liam Logan and Blake Vinson, who matched Arci and McInnis at 12-under, are also in the field. Rounding out the returning contenders are Josh Gibbons and Kade Stewart and the Arizona duo of Jake Byrum and Kristoffer Marshall, both of whom finished tied for fifth at 11-under a year ago. Also keep an eye on Jordan Woolf and Robby Ormand, the 2024 Champions Cup winners, who return to Houston looking to reclaim the title they last held two years ago.
The Cypress Creek Course, designed by Ralph Plummer and opened in 1959, has hosted some of golf’s biggest stages, including the 1967 Ryder Cup and the 1969 U.S. Open.
