The C.B. Macdonald Invitational moved to match play Saturday at the National Golf Links of America, with four players advancing through two rounds to set up Sunday's semifinals. Defending champion Stewart Hagestad cruised through his first-round match against Andy Schonbaum, then held off Nick Cassini 1 up in the quarterfinals. Sean Barrett upset Johnny DelPrete 1 up in the first round and Will Davenport 3&1 in the quarters to earn a semifinal date with Hagestad at 8:20 AM Sunday. On the other side of the bracket, Anderson Memorial champion Jeronimo Esteve needed 19 holes to get past Matt Parziale in the quarterfinals before advancing, while Bobby Leopold posted dominant 6&5 wins over Brad Richards and Ryan Abbate to reach the semis. Esteve and Leopold meet at 8:28 AM Sunday, with the winners facing off in the championship final at 1:10 PM.
