C.B. Macdonald Final Recap: Hagestad Goes Back-to-Back With Dominant Run at National Golf Links

Stewart Hagestad defeated Jeronimo Esteve 3&1 to win the C.B. Macdonald Invitational for the second straight year at National Golf Links.

Stewart Hagestad captured the C.B. Macdonald Invitational for the second straight year, defeating Jeronimo Esteve 3&1 in the championship final Sunday at the National Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York. Hagestad was dominant all week, medaling in qualifying with a 7-under 65, then rolling through match play without dropping a match. Esteve reached the final with a 2&1 semifinal win over Bobby Leopold, adding to his strong summer that included winning the Anderson Memorial championship two weeks ago.
