Evan Nachtigall put together another masterclass at Brantford Golf & Country Club, backing up his opening 64 with a 5-under 67 to seize the solo lead at 13-under 131 through 36 holes of the Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur Championship. Three-time champion Garrett Rank (2014-16) stayed within striking distance at 12-under after a steady 4-under 68, while Haymes Snedeker climbed four spots into a tie for third at 9-under with a second-round 68 of his own. Vincent Mucci delivered the round of the day, a scorching 7-under 65 that launched him 26 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for fifth at 8-under. First-round co-leader Nolan vonKalckreuth cooled off with an even-par 72 but remains in the hunt at 8-under. Nachtigall carries a one-shot cushion over Rank into the third round, with Snedeker and Alex Large lurking four back at 9-under. The low scoring at Brantford continued through Day 2, with five players posting 67 or better and Derek Meinhart and Russell Bowie each matching Mucci's 65 to surge into a tie for 13th at 6-under.
