Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur Tees Off at Brantford With Rank, Couture, and International Contingent

The Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur opens Monday at Brantford Golf & Country Club in Ontario, with 155 players chasing the national title over 72 holes through August 21. Three-time champion Charles Fitzsimmons (2021, 2022, 2025) does not appear in the field, leaving the door open for a new winner. Three-time champion Garrett Rank (2014-16), the NHL referee from Waterloo, Ont., headlines the field as the most decorated mid-amateur in the draw. Former champion Rob Couture of Celina, Texas, who won the 2011 Canadian Men's Mid-Am, adds international pedigree, as does Ryan Terry of Brentwood, Tenn., who finished sixth at the 2025 Canadian Mid-Am and was named 2025 Tennessee Mid-Am Player of the Year. Derek Meinhart of Mattoon, Ill., who co-led after 54 holes and finished third at the 2023 Canadian Men's Mid-Am, returns looking to go one better.
Three Brantford locals, Ben Turnbull, Nate Lockey, and Traynor Turkiewicz, will have the home-course advantage.
