Male amateurs ages 12–18 (not yet 19 by the final round); WHS Index of 3.0 or lower; not a college golf team member; USGA amateur status required

Overview

Founded in 1914 by the Western Golf Association, the Western Junior is the oldest national junior golf championship in the United States. Past competitors include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Rickie Fowler, and Jim Furyk. Top three finishers earn exemptions into the Western Amateur.
