Male amateurs who have not reached their 19th birthday by the final day; USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 4.4; must qualify through USGA local/sectional qualifying
Overview
Conducted by the USGA since 1948, the U.S. Junior Amateur is the most prestigious national championship for male junior golfers and a launchpad for legends including Tiger Woods (3-time champion, 1991–93), Jordan Spieth, and Nick Dunlap. The 256-player stroke play field is among the deepest in amateur golf, and the match play bracket tests champions across seven rounds in seven days.
