Female amateurs who have not reached their 19th birthday by the final day; USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4; must qualify through USGA local/sectional qualifying
Overview
Conducted by the USGA since 1949, the U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur is the premier national championship for female junior golfers in the United States. The field qualifies through local and sectional qualifying events across the country, then the top 64 stroke play qualifiers advance to match play. The event has launched the careers of Annika Sorenstam, Michelle Wie, and Rose Zhang.
