The United States routed the International Team 17.5-6.5 at Medinah Country Club on Sept. 20-21, claiming a fifth consecutive Junior Presidents Cup title by the largest margin in the event's history. The 11-point gap shattered the previous record for the two-day, match-play event featuring 24 of the world's top boys 19 and under.
The 45th U.S. Mid-Amateur begins Saturday at Sand Valley Resort in Nekoosa, Wis., with a record 6,124 entries producing a 264-player field. Two rounds of stroke play across The Lido and the Sand Valley Course will cut the field to 64 for match play, with every match-play round and the 36-hole final held on The Lido. The championship runs through Oct. 1.
Frank Vana closed with a birdie on the final hole at Belmont Country Club to win the Massachusetts Senior Amateur by one shot over Chris Congdon, finishing at 3-over 145 (73-72) on Sept. 22-23. It is Vana's third Mass. Senior Amateur title, with previous wins in 2018 and 2022.
